Policy and market options was founded in 2011 but formally registered in 2014. Policy and Market Options employs a Value Chains/markets development approach aimed at building the capacity of communities to access markets including linkages for ICT solutions to address value chain contraints. We also work in policy review and development.
We believe that markets and the right policies hold the key to reducing poverty and have a long term perspective to development which is what clearly leaves a mark with the communities we work with, bringing about shared value. In this approach, we do not do it for the communities but rather build their capacity to do it.
It is not a touch and go approach, rather we leave communities that continue to deliver the same value to their members long after the assignment period. We aim to exploit the potentials of communities through inclusive business models and addressing systemic bottlenecks towards alleviating poverty and ensuring sustainability of development efforts.
In this regard Policy and Markets Options seeks to provide advisory and consultancy services to non-profit and for profit organizations. We have focused on organizational development for in areas of governance, leadership, financial management, business and strategic planning among others. We have also worked with farmer organizations to develop their capacity to deliver extension services in an effective and efficient manner in addition to developing market linkages and training them on business management and marketing.
